TERRE DU LAC - Richard Dean, 90, of Terre Du Lac passed away June 21, 2014. He was born March 17, 1924 in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma Jean (Pyatt) Dean and a son Terry Dean and fifteen brothers and sisters. Richard proudly served his country in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre and was awarded five bronze stars for his outstanding service. He was employed as a Road Maintenance Foreman with the Missouri Department of Transportation for 31 years. He was a member of American Legion Post # 1000, Jefferson City, Missouri, and the National 4th Infantry Division Association. He is survived by his grandchildren, Timothy (& Shannon) Dean of Herculaneum, Rebecca Dean of St. Louis and Troy (& Cheryl) Exler of Arnold, daughter-in-law Lori (& Larry) Merli of St. Louis, sister-in-law Henrietta Dye of Farmington and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Veterans Chapel at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with the Reverend Matthew Prihoda officiating.
