Farmington – Ronald George Stevens, 80, passed away October 1, 2026, at his home in Baxter, Tennessee after battling Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on January 15, 1946, to the late Ford Wayne Stevens and Flora Virginia Stevens. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Lee Stevens; his beloved wife, Penelope Ann Elrod and his first wife, Sharon Wright.

In 1964, Ron graduated from Fredericktown High School in Fredericktown, Missouri. He graduated from Gradwohl School of Laboratory Technique in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989. Ron served in the Missouri National Guard from 1967 to 1974.

Ron spent much of his life in service at Parkland Health Center and Medical Arts Clinic in Farmington. He was the hospital laboratory supervisor from 1969 to 1984 at Parkland Health Center, then served as the Administrator of Medical Arts Clinic from 1984 to 2006. Ron returned to Parkland Health Center in 2006 and began recruiting doctors for the hospital until his retirement in 2009.

Ron was a member of the Farmington City Council from 1977 to 1981 and then served as Farmington’s Mayor from 1981 to 1989. Ron was a member of the Elks Lodge and served as the Exalted Ruler in Farmington Elks Lodge in 1977 and 1978, where he received the 1978-1979 outstanding service award. Ron also served as President of the Farmington Kiwanis Club from 1991 to 1992.

Ron was a kind and generous man with a love for life and the family and friends that surrounded him. Ron leaves behind his sister, Debbie (John) Cheatham of Missouri and their three daughters and their families, as well as his brother’s son and daughter and their families.

Ron was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Tamara Beckman (Stevens) of Baxter, Tennessee and adored his grandsons, Zachary and Tyler of Cookeville, Tennessee.

Ron lived his entire life in Farmington surrounded by a group of very special lifelong friends who stood beside him through good times and bad. In 2022, Ron moved from Farmington to Cookeville, Tennessee to be closer to his daughter and grandsons. Ron enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He loved visiting his close friend and his family in New York.

Services will be held at Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington at a date to be determined. Ron asked that, in lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the Pet Adoption Center in Farmington.
