Scott Shannon

Homer Sigman "Scott" Shannon III of Park Hills passed away at his home on Friday, June 12, 2009, at the age of 46 years, 6 months, and 11 days. He was born on December 1, 1962, at Perryville, son of Mary (Quesnel) and Homer Shannon, Jr. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mary and Homer Shannon Sr. and maternal grandfather Elgin Leo Pratt. He was a member of Psi Beta, a national psychology honor society at Mineral Area College. In his spare time he enjoyed playing the guitar and other instruments. He was a freelance musician. He was highly regarded for his artwork, especially his etchings in charcoal. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shannon is survived by a brother, Marcus La Roy Shannon and his wife Laura of Desloge and by a sister, Marquitte Burlbaw of Farmington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Visitation will continue from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
