FARMINGTON – Tamara Marie Reece passed into eternal rest on May 26, 2026, at Parkland Hospital at the age of 58. She was born in Farmington on October 25, 1967, to Berta Sue (Rae) Drye and the late Vernon Barton, Jr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Smith and husband, Mark Smith; her grandmother, Alice Rae;  and Tamara's fiancé, Charles Smith.

Tamara was a 1986 graduate of Farmington High School and went on to attend Beauty School at Missouri Beauty Academy. She spent her career working in area nursing homes, waitressing and was also employed at Gilster Mary Lee in Perryville. Gardening and scrapbooking were two of her favorite hobbies. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Tamara loved the summertime, swimming and grilling out with friends and family. Her keen sense of humor made her a good storyteller who kept everyone laughing. Mostly, she had a kind heart and loved her family. She attended the Purpose Church in Delasus.

Survivors include her mother, Berta Drye; brother, Scott (Sherrie) Barton; brother, Douglas Ray Barton, nieces and nephews, Holly Barton, Brendan Barton, Sarah (Paul) Cantrell, Aaron Smith and Nathan Smith; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Also surviving is a special friend, Julie Massie.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Josh Harrison officiating. Private burial at Three Rivers Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Cozean Memorial Chapel to help defray funeral expenses.
