Thomas E. Cowley, Sr.

DOE RUN Thomas E. "Tom" Cowley, Sr. of Doe Run passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 6, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 11, 1945 in St. Louis son of the late Joseph Ray Cowley and Dorothy Jane (Kennedy) Cowley-Prier. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue "Susie" (Brackett) Cowley, two brothers Jerry and Ron Cowley and a sister Pauline Williams.

Tom proudly served his country in the US Navy on board the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. For nearly 30 years he worked as a forklift operator and as a foreman for Botkin Lumber Company.

He is survived by his daughter Paula (& Joey) Crawford, two sons Thomas E. (& Michelle) Cowley, Jr., and Sammy (& Candace) Cowley; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren with one on the way and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and other relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to invite all of Tom's family, friends, and neighbors to a memorial gathering from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Interment will be in the Genevieve Baptist Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
