FARMINGTON — Tonia Lynn Bishop-Scherer, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on June 11, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 56. She was born on March 28, 1969, in Agana, Guam.
Tonia is survived by her devoted mother, Linda (née Martin) Pinkley; her loving father, Daniel "Charlie" Pinkley; and her siblings, Daniel (Sandra) Pinkley Jr., Stephen (Linda) Pinkley, Michael (Rebecca) Pinkley, and Stephanie (Artie) Giesler. Tonia will also be fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Bishop; her sister, Danielle Charisse Pinkley; and her grandparents, Oliver and Anna Martin, Claude and Lucille Pinkley, and Jess and Olinda Bishop.
Tonia was a 1987 graduate of Ste. Genevieve High School and went on to earn a degree in accounting and business from Hickey Business School. She began her professional career at Hartford Steam Boiler Company, where she worked for five years. She then joined Bloomsdale Bank, where she served as a dedicated loan processor for nearly 20 years.
Tonia enjoyed crafting, watching movies, and playing bingo. Music brought her comfort and happiness, especially the live performances at the nursing home where she resided in her later years due to health challenges. Above all, Tonia cherished time spent with her family, whose love and companionship meant everything to her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Sonrise Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. The date and time will be announced once available.
