Tyler “Mila” Joseph Wood (they/them), of Farmington, passed away on August 26, 2026, at their residence at the age of 20. Mila was born on May 18, 2006, to Daniel and Robyn (Resinger) Wood.

Mila was a quiet and private person who experienced the world in their own way. They often kept their thoughts and feelings to themselves and were most comfortable in the familiarity of home and family. Mila enjoyed reading, spending time on their own, and the companionship of their beloved cat, Orion.

Although Mila didn’t always share much about themselves with others, there was much more to them than what could be seen from the outside. They were still discovering who they were and the life they wanted for themselves. Tyler had chosen the name Mila for themselves, a name that held special meaning to them and that their family is honored to carry forward in their memory.

Recently, Mila stepped far outside of their usual comfort zone and went skydiving with their sister, Pamela. It was an extraordinary experience for someone who generally preferred the quiet and familiar, and it became a special memory that Pamela and the family will always hold onto.

Mila is survived by their loving parents, Daniel and Robyn Wood; their siblings, Morgan, Pamela, Ethan, Michael, Matthew, Bryan, and Jackson Wood; their grandfather, Dale Resinger; their nieces and nephews, Weston, Lillian, and Blake; their aunts and uncles, DeDe Myers (Tony), Jeff Bullock (Bree), Rodney Resinger (Julie), Wayne Wood (Cassie), and Jim Wood (Michele); their great-aunt, Kay Pogue; their beloved feline companion, Orion; as well as many cousins and others whose lives crossed paths with Mila.

In addition to their grandparents, Donald Wood, Joyce Aselpt, and Linda Resinger, Mila was preceded in death by their maternal great-grandmother, Genevieve Austin; their uncle, Jack Wood; and their aunt, Pam Wood.

A visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
