Vivian Thomas Loughary

Vivian Lucille "Gordon" "Thomas" Loughary, age 92 passed away peacefully at her home on October 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 13, 1926 to the late Arthur and Lucy (Pogue) Gordon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Wendell "Lefty" Thomas, siblings Pauline Pryor, Howard Gordon, Helen Smith, step-daughter Debi Faulkner and step-great-granddaughter Sadie Faulkner. Vivian was a wonderful compassionate woman who loved her family and friends. She was a long time member of the Farmington Christian Church. Vivian was dedicated to her community and retired from the St. Francois County Recorder of Deeds office. She was a lover of her flower gardens, watching her grandchildren in their activities and the St. Louis Cardinals. Survivors include her loving husband Harold "Hal" Loughary; children, Gary (Connie) Thomas, Nancy (Mark) Dotson, step-children Karl (Kathy) Loughary, Linda (Dennis) Politte, Norman (Valeria) Loughary; her grandchildren, Sarah Thomas Phillips, Adam (Cassie) Thomas, Marcy Dotson, Matt (Kristen) Dotson, Jason Faulkner, Jill (John) Simily, Julie (Aaron) Ward, Jared (April) Faulkner, Meghan Loughary, Kaleb (Erin) Politte, Kerry (Tina) Politte, Kelsey (Josh) Long, Klayton Loughary and Kaitlyn Loughary. Vivian is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning at Farmington Christian Church at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Lasley officiating. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials if desired, may be made to Farmington Christian Church or Bismarck United Methodist Church.
