Walker Henry D Johns

August 19, 1997 — November 3, 2011

Walker Henry Johns "A Knight Takes Flight" Walker Henry Johns of Farmington passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the age of 14 years. He was born on August 19, 1997, son of Kenneth James and Kelly Charisse (Walker) Johns. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Walker on August 28, 2001. Walker was raised in Farmington and was an 8th grader at Farmington Middle School. His greatest ambition was to be a Knight football player. His life was sadly overcome by severe illness. He was a loving and compassionate young man who enjoyed his special friends and mostly hanging out with his Dad on the football field. He was raised around Farmington Knight Football from Daddy's arms to becoming Waterboy. He could tell you every player's name, number and position as well as the plays that were ran. As well as football, Walker loved playing baseball and basketball. Four wheeling on his Ranger, cooking and "shootin' doves" were also favorite pastimes. He especially loved being with his special Aunt Kimi, cousin Koby, and Randi. His three dogs, Comet, Spur and Ronnie were his pals. His number one fan was his Grandpa Martin Johns. Walker had a special place in his heart for his sister Zoe, who stopped at nothing to help spare her big brother from Leukemia and winning that battle. In his sisters words: "My brother would always swim with me and spy on my cousin Jacob. We would play Cops and Robbers with the golf cart and Ranger. Walker and I played Wiffle Ball and he always helped me, but once in a while he would trick me into him getting to bat more than he should have. Walker and I would cook dinner or breakfast for my family. Once for my mom and dad's annniversary we cooked baked chicken, green beans and we set up candles and made the presentation beautiful. We watched Paula Dean together. Once we pretended to skate on the pond when Dad told us not to. When I played school in the basement, I was the teacher and Walker was the principal who always interrupted my teaching. On road trips Walker and I would put the back seat down and we would lay in the trunk and try to go to sleep. My brother was the best brother ever, we barely fought and we loved each other so much. I will never forget him." Survivors include Walker's parents, Kelly and Kenny, sister, Zoe; grandparents, Ann Walker, and Lois and Martin Johns, all of Farmington; five aunts, Kim Hand, Patti Crook, Betsy Nardi, Carrie Johns, and Mary Ann Johns; six uncles, Kevin Walker, Richard Johns, Andy Johns, Steve Johns, Doug Nardi and Tom Crook; cousins, Randi Parks, Koby Hand, Lauren and Darren Johns, Jacob Johns, Alex and Matt Nardi, Christy and Darryl Cox, and Jessica Johns. Also surviving is a special uncle, William "Willie" Johns.
