Listen to Obituary

Wanda Rose Brenneke, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and the steady heart of her family, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026. She was born in Farmington on June 4, 1940. She lived her life grounded in her Christian faith, carrying a quiet but unwavering trust in God that guided her through every season. Her kindness, grace, and gentle strength were reflections of the love she believed in so deeply.

She found joy in the simple, beautiful things, especially the purple martins she so enjoyed watching return each spring. Following their flight until they reached home, her home. Her greatest joy, though, was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She poured love into every moment with them—celebrating their milestones, cheering them on, and making each one feel uniquely treasured.

Her laughter, her stories, and her warm hugs created memories that will live in their hearts forever. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the lives she shaped, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.

Survivors include her children, James Edward McDaniel, Lisa Ann (David) Ferguson and Darren Lee (Catherine) McDaniel, all of Troy, Missouri; six grandchildren, Matt (Samantha) Ferguson, Josh (Amanda) Ferguson, Virginia (Kyle) Heinz, Nate McDaniel, Grant McDaniel and Saige Woodside; five great grandchildren, Kanaan, Kinsley, Remi, Oliver and Mason; one brother, Robert Thomure and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edward Thomure, Sr. and Virginia Mills (Green) Thomure; her husband, Theodore “Ted” Brenneke; her brothers, Willie Edward Thomure, Jr. and Charles Nicholas Thomure.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 26, 2026, beginning at 12 noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Joe Collyott officiating.
