William Bedford Coble of Farmington passed away at Mercy Jefferson in Festus on July 4, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on May 26, 1952, to the late Lonard Coble and Maggie (Webb) Coble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Connie Coble; a granddaughter, Brittany Wrest and his in-laws, Alva and Jenny Davidson.
Most of William’s youth was spent growing up in Poplar Bluff where he attended school. In 1972 he enlisted in the U. S. Army and proudly served his country stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. He, along with his wife, Cheryl, owned and operated a pest control business for more than thirty years. William was also a certified cable technician and worked for Farmington Cable, later Charter Cable where he retired from. Fishing, hunting and swimming were some of his favorite pastimes He was a genuine family man who loved nothing more than being a grandpa.
Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Coble; children, Chrissy Wilcut, Michelle (Darryl) Wrest, and Deanna Wampler; five grandchildren, Sabrina Wrest, Taylor (Haley) Hawkins, Collin Wrest, Ryan Wampler, Lynnlee Wampler; five great grandchildren, Sofia Wrest, Claire Hampton, Kaiden Hinkle, Christian Hawkins, Kit Hawkins; a brother, Ray (Courtney) Coble. Also surviving are bonus family members, Dennis (Christina) Cisneros and Tracie and Alonzo Jefferson and his beloved canine companion, Piper.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Wes Waller officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. at Henson Cemetery near Ellsinore, Missouri following the funeral service.
