Susan Breland will present a program on Civil War veterans for the St. Francois County Historical Society on August 26 at 7 p.m. at the city Firehouse.
Veterans and their families seeking assistance with the filing of VA claims are invited to meet with VFW, DAV, and American Legion service officers at the city's VFW Post 5896 on August 27 from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
Mineral Area Woodcarvers will meet on August 28 at the city Senior Center on August 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome.
The city American Legion will host a dance on August 29 starting at 7 p.m. Classic Country music will be featured at the Legion's smoke and alcohol free environment. Admission is $5.
Rocky Bottom Opry in Delassus will host a dance in a smoke and alcohol-free environment on August 29. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the dance will follow from 7 to 10 p.m.
Farmington VFW Post #5896 will host a BBQ in conjunction with the Farmer's Market on August 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A free support group for parents who have lost children will be held from 7-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 400 N. Washington St. For more information, call 747-0335.

Farmington Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry has a fundraiser at CiCi's Pizza on 3rd Monday of each month, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 10% of Receipts go to help the food pantry.
