What's Happening in Farmington

A free identity theft workshop by the Harvard Risk Management Corporation will be held October 1 at 6 p.m. at the Fire Department.

The Newcomers Club will meet October 2 at 9 a.m.at the Presbyterian Church for a program which will include a presentation by Jon Cozean on Christopher Columbus.  For more information,  call 756-0165.

The Lions Club is holding a 3 person scramble golf tournament on October 3 at the St. Francois Country Club;  $210 per team with a 12 p.m. shotgun start.  Entry fee includes mulligans, skins, and a cart;  cash prizes,  3 places for each flight, freed food and liquid refreshments.  For details,  call 366-7937.

The Sarah Barton Murphy Chapter,  Daughters of the American Revolution,  will meet October 4 at 9 a.m. at the Valley Creek Coffee House.  Members and prospective members are invited;  breakfast items available after 8 a.m.

A free support group for parents who have lost children will be held from 7-8 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 400 N. Washington St. For more information, call 747-0335.

The Lions Club meets at 7 a.m. on each Tuesday at the MARMC cafeteria.The Presbyterian Manor is seeking volunteers to help with resident shopping, delivering mail to residents and a piano player for Wednesday and Sunday afternoon. For more information, call Teresa Pinkley at 756-6768.

Farmington Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry has a fundraiser at CiCi's Pizza on 3rd Monday of each month, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 10% of Receipts go to help the food pantry.

Al-Anon Support Group meets 7 to 8 p.m. each Thursday at the Farmington Church of the Nazarene. Call 756-2791 if any questions.

Volunteers are needed by the Farmington Senior Center to help deliver meals to the homebound in our area. Help is also needed to pack these meals and to serve the noon meal at the center. More more information, call Mona Yates at 756-1376.
